Being Healthy Can Benefit You Even When You Get Sick

Recently, my 85 year old grandfather fell and fractured his hip.  At 85, that can be a serious issue.  My grandfather just came out of his hip replacement surgery with flying colors and is recuperating right now as I write this blog entry.  It got me to thinking about my own situation.

I was in great shape when I had my prostate surgery and while the surgery and recovery were not easy.  I am not sure I would not be in as good a shape and health as I am today had I not been healthy beforehand.  This is in no small part because of the example my grandparents set for me.  They exercised and ate right well before it was the thing to do.  So as I prepare to go workout in a few minutes and think about my grandfather.  I think it is important for us to realize that staying healthy is not only to prevent health issues from occurring, but also to ensure that when they do occur.  We can weather them.
