I did it by first deciding what I wasn’t going to do. I wasn’t going to read some fad miracle diet book and get on some fad miracle diet that promised me a six pack in six days. I wasn’t going to take any miracle diet pills. These types of programs and pills are a total fraud at worst and minimally beneficial at best. I didn’t need something for a photo shoot. I needed a health transformation. So, if you are looking for the former than there are a million things out there to try. Good luck! But, if you want the latter let me tell you how I did it.
When I thought about the best way to express how I did it. A statement my daughter heard while in a basketball camp in Louisville, KY best expressed how I did it. The quote came from former WNBA player and current motivational speaker and business coach, Dr. Fran Harris. Her statements I believe are the keys to health transformation (and any transformation for that matter). They are:
- Deciding what kind of result you want!
- Deciding what you are willing to do to achieve that result!
- Going out and doing it!
Now, most people have a idea what kind of results they want, so I won’t bother spending another second on that key, BUT keys two and three, however, are the ones that make the difference between people with gym memberships and donut wrappers in their cars and people with gym memberships and rippled abs.
Despite what I see AND what the statistics say, I think most people, such as yourself, are willing to do the things to achieve what they want (with the right motivation people will do almost anything), BUT many lack the knowledge of exactly what it is they should be doing to achieve those results. Look at me, for example. No one is more dedicated when it comes to getting it done than me, but even I found myself discouraged when I would rush out on fire to workout, only to be discouraged when I hit a roadblock in the gym or got injured. It wasn’t until I got sick that I really thought about it and realized what I was doing wrong. I needed something that would give me quality information on not only how to exercise, but also what to eat, when to eat and how much to eat. What I needed was a plan. And the truth is so do you. Few people will travel down a road without knowing where it leads. If people realize that the road leads to what they want they will be committed to traveling down that road. Commitment produces consistency. Consistency produces habits and habits produce the kind of results you want. My goal with this blog is to help anyone that wants to live a healthier life find the right plan of action and walk with them to achieve. I look forward to the journey. Comments? :-)
