What We’re Reading

As someone being from the South and the paternal side of my family being from southern Louisiana. You know I like good food. Unfortunately, most of the food that is good for me isn’t the food I grew up eating. Compound that with a pork loving wife from North Carolina and you have a recipe for bad eating habits. But do not despair. In my efforts to live and be healthy and enjoy myself while doing it I have found variations of my favorites. One or the things I like to do is find ways to replace fried foods (which I love!!). This usually involves is baking them with a coating like breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese or crushed pecans or walnuts mixed with herbs, but like I said I am very busy. Below you will find a one of the recipes I cook for pork chops in my house when I don’t have time to do all of the above. You know I have to do something in my house.

Shake and Baked Pork Chop Recipes

Ingredients:

1 Shake and Bake package

4 medium size pork chops

Moisten the pork chop (if you can marinate it the night before with some cajun seasoning and white cooking wine, DO IT! :-)

Place marinated pork chops in bag (if you couldn’t marinate, then moisten pork chops with water). Pour Shake and Bake into bag and shake until all pork chops are coated. Than bake in a 400 degree pre-heated oven on an ungreased pan for 30 - 45 minutes. Keep your eye on them every 15 minutes because cooking varies in certain ovens depending on what type they are, so you don’t want to burn them.

My ultimate goal is to ensure that you can be healthy and eat good food also. Everyone loves feeling good and eating food that tastes good. One of my resources that make eating good and feeling good easy is a recipe book that handles everything for me. Louisiana is the home of great food period. But frying pork chops is not healthy. Baking chops always makes better sense and your recipe does the trick well.

Well i think that Keep your eye on them every 15 minutes because cooking varies in certain ovens depending on what type they are, so you don’t want to burn them.

I really love fried foods. I don't know what's with it that made me so addictive. But recently, I gained a lot of weight because of this. I wanted to find other ways to satisfy my cravings while taking care of my health. This is a good start of my diet.

I’m really trying to focus on my weight for multiple reasons, but the biggest one is because I don’t feel attractive. I know that I am, but sometimes it feels like I can’t get a boyfriend because of my weight, and it severely lowers my self-esteem.
